HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response
in an education and care setting
This two (2) day training program is designed for people who wish to or are required to develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide first aid in a children’s educational setting. While the normal contents of a first aid course are taught, including CPR for adults, there is extra emphasis within this course on the needs of children.
Thus, this course is recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority as an industry standard first aid qualification for Educators working in the Children’s Services industry.
While not categorically stated that this qualification is to be renewed, it should be consistently treated as with other first aid qualifications and planned be renewed every 3 years.
People looking to undertake a more generic first aid course should consider the HLTAID003 Provide first aid course.
